About the Experience

Join us on a journey to Naimisharanya, a sacred and historically significant pilgrimage site located near Lucknow. This full-day guided tour will take you through temples, ancient kunds, and holy places mentioned in India's oldest scriptures. We’ll explore the stories, culture, and spiritual significance of each stop, connecting you to the rich heritage of this revered destination.

Key Stops

Meeting and Departure

We will begin our journey from the meeting point in Lucknow, where a comfortable vehicle will be arranged to take us to Naimisharanya (Neemsar), which is about 2-2.5 hours away.

On the way, we’ll stop for a traditional breakfast of chai, khaste, and jalebis while getting to know the group.

  1. Chakra Tirth – Next, we visit Chakra Tirth, believed to be the centre of the universe, according to ancient scriptures. Lord Vishnu’s chakra (divine wheel) is said to have created a sacred pond here. A dip in this water is considered to wash away sins and grant spiritual blessings, have a bath in this sacred pond to begin your divine journey. Our guide will narrate the fascinating mythology surrounding this important location.
  2. Lalita Devi – A revered temple dedicated to Goddess Lalita, considered a powerful incarnation of Goddess Shakti. According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that the heart of Sati, Lord Shiva's first consort, fell at this sacred spot, making it one of the 51 Shakti Peethas.
  3. Vyas Gaddi – At Vyas Gaddi, you will learn about the great sage Veda Vyasa, who is believed to have compiled the Vedas and Mahabharata here. The temple offers a glimpse into the past, filled with legends and religious teachings. Our guide will recount the spiritual significance of this spot, making it a perfect start to our journey.
  4. Hanuman Garhi – This revered temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, is believed to be the resting place of the mighty monkey god after he carried the Sanjeevani herb to revive Lakshmana. The temple is a place of deep devotion and energy, where you’ll witness the spiritual fervor of pilgrims seeking blessings.
  5. Gomti Ghat – We’ll make our way to Gomti Ghat, where the sacred Gomti River flows. The riverbanks are alive with rituals and prayers, as pilgrims believe the waters hold the power to purify the soul. As you sit by the serene river, our guide will share the spiritual and cultural importance of the Gomti in Naimisharanya and across India.
  6. Balaji Mandir – At Balaji Mandir, experience the divine presence of Lord Venkateshwara (Balaji). This temple is known for its beautiful architecture and serene atmosphere, where devotees seek blessings for prosperity and protection. Our guide will introduce you to the religious importance and local traditions associated with this temple.
  7. Dadhichi Kund – Our final stop is Dadhichi Kund, a sacred water body tied to the legend of Sage Dadhichi, who is said to have sacrificed his bones to create a weapon for the gods. The kund is a symbol of self-sacrifice and devotion, and our guide will explain the deeper meaning of this site in Hindu mythology. The journey to this kund is not compatible for larger vehicles so we will take a rikshaw for this destination (If the group is comfortable with that).
  8. Return to Lucknow – After completing the tour, we will drop you off at your hotel or the original meeting point in Lucknow.

What to Bring

  • Dress comfortably for the weather and wear suitable clothing for walking and local travel.
  • Suggested: Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat. (Also an umbrella if it's going to rain)
  • A water bottle and a little snack.

Important Notes:

  • Tourist cabs are not allowed inside the main Naimisharanya circuit, we will be parking our vehicle and doing inter-city travel with Tuktuks/E-rickshaws.
  • Pay for your own tickets (wherever necessary)
  • Please come prepared for a long yet enriching day, as we explore some of the most significant sites in Indian history and spirituality.
  • We believe in not wasting food, thus - the food and drinks in this experience is not included, as we want our guests to only buy what they want to eat.
